The question is – are they worthy of the mighty Sennheiser name or is this product designed to quickly profit from name brand recognition? My pal HuggyBear and I are both studio musicians. He plays bass and I play keys, guitar, bass and do vocals. We use headphones every single day of our lives whether it is for our work or for fun or for travel. Headphones are an important part of our daily lives. If you are an audiophile (someone who is a music ‘nut’ that wants to listen to the best quality sound), then you have similar needs to studio musicians like us. The Sennheiser HD-555 Audiophile Headphones are designed for people like us!
HuggyBear says he owns and uses a ton of different studio monitor headphones. I know I’ve seen the collection in his studio and his home office. But he says these are among the very best he’s used. In fact he said if he had to start all over again, these would be the pair of headphones he would recommend (unless you are a total cheapskate, in which case he recommends the Audio Technica ATHM40FS).
